P4, P0, PC00 aur PC04 Error Codes generally IPM (Intelligent Power Module) Fault, IGBT Over Current Protection, ya Compressor Drive Circuit Abnormality ko indicate karte hain. Jab Outdoor Inverter PCB compressor ko drive karte waqt excessive current ya abnormal voltage detect karta hai, to compressor ko protect karne ke liye system turant operation stop kar deta hai.


1. Low ya High Input Voltage

Sabse pehle Outdoor Unit ki AC Input Voltage check karein.

Check

  • Outdoor terminal par AC Voltage measure karein.
  • Voltage manufacturer ki specified operating range ke andar honi chahiye.
  • Loose terminals ya burnt wiring inspect karein.

Solution

  • Power supply issue ko theek karein.
  • Loose connections tighten karein.
  • Agar voltage fluctuation zyada ho to suitable Voltage Stabilizer install karein.

2. Compressor Winding Short ya Ground Fault

Compressor ke U, V aur W terminals disconnect karein.

Resistance Measure Karein

  • U – V
  • V – W
  • W – U

Normal Condition

Teeno winding ki resistance lagbhag equal honi chahiye.

Earth Leakage Check

  • U to Earth
  • V to Earth
  • W to Earth

Resistance Earth ke saath Infinite (OL) honi chahiye.

Solution

Agar winding short hai ya Earth se continuity aa rahi hai to Compressor replace karein.


3. IPM (IGBT Module) Fault

IPM DC Voltage ko Compressor ke liye Three Phase AC Supply mein convert karta hai.

Symptoms

  • Compressor start nahi hota.
  • IPM bahut zyada garam ho jata hai.
  • Outdoor PCB par burn marks dikh sakte hain.

Solution

Manufacturer ki recommendation ke anusaar IPM Module ya Complete Outdoor PCB replace karein.


4. Compressor UVW Cable Short Circuit

Outdoor PCB aur Compressor ke beech UVW Cable inspect karein.

Check

  • Damaged insulation
  • Burnt connector
  • Loose terminal
  • Water ingress ya moisture

Solution

Damaged cable ko repair ya replace karein.


5. High DC Bus Voltage

Outdoor PCB ke Main Capacitor par DC Bus Voltage measure karein.

Normal Value

230 VAC Input → Approximately 310–340 VDC

Agar DC Voltage bahut zyada ya unstable ho to:

Check

  • Bridge Rectifier
  • Main Filter Capacitor
  • PFC Circuit (Applicable Models)

Solution

Faulty component replace karein.


6. Compressor Locked Rotor

Symptoms

  • Compressor start hone ki koshish karta hai.
  • Turant bahut zyada current draw karta hai.
  • Outdoor PCB P4 ya P0 Error ke saath trip ho jata hai.

Solution

  • Compressor winding resistance measure karein.
  • Compressor ki mechanical condition check karein.
  • Agar compressor jam (seized) hai to Compressor replace karein.

7. Outdoor BLDC Fan Motor Fault

Agar Outdoor Fan Motor nahi chal raha hai:

  • Condensing Pressure badh jaati hai.
  • IPM ka temperature increase ho jata hai.
  • Over Current Protection activate ho sakti hai.

  • BLDC Fan Motor
  • Fan PCB
  • Fan Connector
  • Fan Supply Voltage

Solution

Faulty Fan Motor ya Fan PCB ko repair ya replace karein.


8. Refrigerant System Problem

Possible Causes

  • Refrigerant Overcharge
  • Blocked Capillary
  • Electronic Expansion Valve (EEV) Block
  • Condenser Choke
  • High Discharge Pressure

In conditions mein Compressor zyada current draw karta hai.

Solution

  • Refrigerant Charge verify karein.
  • Condenser Coil clean karein.
  • EEV operation test karein.
  • Suction aur Discharge Pressure check karein.

9. Outdoor Heat Sink Overheating

IPM Module ko proper cooling ki zarurat hoti hai.

Check

  • Heat Sink
  • Thermal Paste
  • Cooling Fan
  • Dust Accumulation

Solution

  • Heat Sink clean karein.
  • Zarurat ho to Thermal Compound dobara apply karein.
  • Faulty Cooling Fan replace karein.

10. Outdoor PCB Fault

Agar baaki sab components normal hain.

Check

  • Gate Driver Circuit
  • Current Sensor
  • PCB Track Damage
  • IPM Driver IC

Solution

Outdoor PCB replace karein.

  • Servicing se pehle Main Power Supply OFF karein.
  • PCB touch karne se pehle DC Bus Capacitor discharge karein.
  • PPE aur Insulated Gloves ka use karein.
  • Testing ke dauran IPM terminals ko kabhi short na karein.

Outdoor PCB ya IPM Module replace karne se pehle hamesha Compressor Windings, UVW Cable, DC Bus Voltage (310–340 VDC), Outdoor BLDC Fan Motor aur Refrigerant System ko thoroughly verify karein. Agar Compressor winding short hai ya UVW Cable mein short circuit hai, to bina root cause solve kiye naya IPM Module ya PCB bhi turant damage ho sakta hai. Isliye pehle actual fault identify karein, phir hi component replace karein.

Troubleshooting Guide (For Service Technicians)

These error codes generally indicate an IPM (Intelligent Power Module) fault, IGBT over-current protection, or compressor drive circuit abnormality. The outdoor PCB detects excessive current or abnormal voltage while driving the compressor and immediately stops operation to protect the inverter system.


Possible Causes

1. Low or High Input Voltage

  • Measure the AC input voltage at the outdoor unit.
  • Ensure the voltage is within the manufacturer's specified operating range.
  • Check for loose terminals or burnt wiring.

Solution

  • Correct the power supply issue.
  • Tighten loose connections.
  • Install a voltage stabilizer if required.

2. Compressor Winding Short or Ground Fault

Disconnect the compressor terminals (U, V, W).

Measure:

  • U–V Resistance
  • V–W Resistance
  • W–U Resistance

The resistance should be nearly equal on all three windings.

Also check:

  • U to Earth
  • V to Earth
  • W to Earth

Resistance to earth should be infinite.

Solution

  • Replace the compressor if windings are shorted or grounded.

3. IPM (IGBT Module) Failure

The IPM converts DC voltage into three-phase AC for the compressor.

Symptoms:

  • Compressor does not start.
  • IPM becomes excessively hot.
  • PCB may show burn marks.

Solution

  • Replace the IPM module or complete outdoor PCB as recommended by the manufacturer.

4. Short Circuit in Compressor Cable

Inspect the UVW cable between the outdoor PCB and compressor.

Check for:

  • Damaged insulation
  • Burnt connectors
  • Loose terminals
  • Water ingress

Solution

  • Repair or replace the damaged cable.

5. High DC Bus Voltage

Measure the DC bus voltage across the main capacitor.

Typical values:

  • 230 VAC input → approximately 310–340 VDC

If DC voltage is too high or unstable:

  • Rectifier bridge
  • Main filter capacitor
  • PFC circuit (if applicable)

Solution

  • Replace the faulty component.

6. Compressor Locked Rotor

8. Refrigerant System Problems

These conditions increase compressor current.

Solution

  • Check refrigerant charge.
  • Clean the condenser coil.
  • Test the Electronic Expansion Valve (EEV).
  • Verify operating pressures.

9. Outdoor Heat Sink Overheating

The IPM module requires proper cooling.

Check:

  • Heat sink
  • Thermal paste
  • Cooling fan
  • Dust accumulation

Solution

  • Clean the heat sink.
  • Reapply thermal compound if required.
  • Replace the cooling fan if defective.

10. Faulty Outdoor PCB

If all other components are normal:

Possible faults include:

  • Damaged gate driver circuit
  • Faulty current sensor
  • PCB tracking damage
  • Defective IPM driver IC

Solution

  • Replace the outdoor PCB.

Recommended Troubleshooting Sequence

  1. Check AC input voltage.
  2. Inspect all wiring and terminals.
  3. Measure DC bus voltage (approximately 310–340 VDC).
  4. Test compressor winding resistance.
  5. Check compressor insulation to earth.
